One scholarship awarded annually, valued up to US$10,000 per year.

For a Master of Law (LL.M, S.J.D., Ph.D. or D.Phil. in Law).

For a Combined Postgraduate Diploma Bar Professional Training with an LL.M.

Eligible fields of study are:

  • Admiralty, Shipping and/or Aviation Law
  • Arbitration and Mediation
  • Environmental Law
  • Information Technology Law
  • International Financial Services and Securities Regulation
  • Maritime Law
  • Taxation and International Tax Compliance
  • Anti-Money Laundering
  • Trust and Estate Planning

– For a Masters of Public Administration with a concentration in Judicial Administration (MPA)
– For a Master of Science in Legal Administration (MSLA)
– For a Certificate, Diploma or Associate’s Degree in Court Reporting or Court Stenography
– LL.B or J.D. courses are not eligible.

One award valued up to CAD $30,000 annually for study in Canada at the graduate or technical level

The Thomson Leadership & Innovation Award is designed to recruit and support students who are driven to improve The Bahamas in areas including but not limited to: entrepreneurial studies, emerging technologies, design, the creative arts and/or the sciences.

To become a Thomson Leadership Scholar, you would possess the following attributes:

  • You are a creative thinker and innovator.
  • You have created, lead and/or inspired others to make a measurable impact of change in a community project or in a business.
  • You are passionate and driven to succeed in an emerging field that is underrepresented or wholly not represented in The Bahamas;
  • OR you desire to bring a completely new perspective to a traditional and longstanding field or industry and require further education to do so.

One scholarship awarded annually valued up to US$15,000 per year.

For study in the US and Canada at the undergraduate and graduate levels.

Eligible fields of study are:

  • Agriculture
  • Architecture
  • Economics
  • Education
  • Engineering
  • Marine Construction
  • Marine Design
  • Manufacturing Systems
  • Anti-Money Laundering
  • Trust and Estate Planning

One scholarship awarded annually valued up to US$15,000 per year.

For study at the undergraduate level for students who have completed or are in the final semester of an Associates of Art degree from University of The Bahamas OR

For study at the graduate level

Eligible fields of study are:

  • Fine Arts
  • Visual and Performing Arts
  • Writing
  • Poetry
  • Arts Education

-Samples of work and/or auditions and interviews are required.

Two scholarships awarded annually worth up to US$15,000 per year

One undergraduate scholarship in marine and environmental biology

One technical training and vocational scholarship in marine mechanics

Valued up to CDN$25,000 annually

Two scholarship awards are offered under this fund:

The Edward S. Rogers Scholarship &
The Loretta A. Rogers Scholarship

Eligible fields of study are:

  • For study in Canada at the undergraduate level
  • Preference given to first generation students
  • Open field of study, with preference given to students who are accepted into the Edward Rogers School of Business Management at Ryerson University Fine Arts
  • Visual and Performing Arts
  • Writing
  • Poetry
  • Arts Education

One scholarship awarded annually worth up to CAD$10,000 per year

For study in Canada at the undergraduate level

  • Open field of study

Candidates must demonstrate leadership skills such as team captaincy, participation in student government, civic contributions or community service

Applicants must also have earned at least a bronze award in the Governor-General’s Youth Award programme

Valued up to US$25,000 annually

For study at the Graduate level

For study in:

  • Marine Science including specialization in Marine Biology, Ecosystems, Habitat Protection, Tropical Environments or Fishing Science.
  • Environmental Sciences including specialization in Oceanography, Conservation Biology, Ecology, Sustainability, Environmental Policy and Management, or Environmental Education
  • Agricultural Science including Agriculture Production, Horticultural Science, Animal Production, Natural and Sustainable Resource Management
  • Aquaculture, Fisheries and Marine Resource Management

One scholarship awarded annually worth up to CAD$15,000 per year

For study in Canada at the undergraduate level

  • Open field of study

One scholarship awarded annually worth up to US$15,000 per year

For study at the graduate level

  • Open field of study
